WHAT-ER BABY: Malia Daykin has certainly won her water wings having achieved her 400 metres swimming badge and a commendation from the ASA all at the age of just four. Malia who lives at Plymstock with her parents and has not yet started school, achieved her precocious feat having been taught by swimming teacher Paul Davies at Fort Stamford. One of Mr Davies’ former and most famous students is none other than Plymouth’s Olympic diving star Tom Daley — and guess what? Tom only happens to be Malia’s cousin.
Malia’s mum, Maria Daykin, is naturally proud of her daughter and also praised Mr Davies whom, she called ‘exceptional’.
